In order to encourage ‘Make In India’ and promote manufacturing and production of goods and services in India with a view to enhancing income and employment, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has notified the Public Procurement (Preference to Make In India), Pdf Download(203KB)Published date 15-06-2017. ,which has recently being amended vide DPIIT order No. P-45021/2/2017-PP(BE-II) Dated 4 Jun 2020. Nodal Ministries/Departments have also been appointed for implementation of this Order. Department of Defence Production (DDP) has been appointed as the nodal Department for implementation of this Order with respect to procurement of  defence related items.

Based on this mandate, DDP has notified 46 items/Category of items procured by Ordnance Factories and Defence Public Sector Undertakings under clause 3(a) of PPP-MII Order,2017 vide notifications dated 25.8.2020 and 5.10.2020 , wherein only class-I local suppliers will be eligible to bid irrespective of the purchase value
